The 8th annual Gourmet Garden, a fantastic food and wine tasting event sponsored by the Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer, will take place October 6, 2011 at The Hamilton Manor, 30 Route 156 (at Route 130 S), Hamilton, NJ from 6-9pm.  The 2011 Gourmet Garden will be an exciting experience, providing guests with a tasting of the finest foods from area restaurants, a sampling of wines provided by vendors of Glendale Liquors, and the opportunity to bid on spectacular specialty baskets. At a recent Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer meeting, Club president Susan Valentine presented Crawford House executive director, Linda Leyhane, a check to provide Crawford House residents with dental care.  Each year, the Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer selects one project to be the primary beneficiary of its Gourmet Garden, a food and wine tasking fund-raising event.  Crawford House, this year’s recipient, has been providing transitional housing and addiction treatment service to New Jersey Women for 30 years.

The restaurants featured this year include Cairo Cakes & Pastries, Dove Chocolate Discoveries, Firkin Tavern, Francisco’s on the River, Grover's Mill Coffee, Leonardo's II, MCCC Hospitality, Madeline’s Table, Mexican Mariachi Grill & Catering,  Palace of Asia, Piccolo Trattoria, Porfirio’s Italian Foods & Café, Revere Grill Room at The Hamilton Manor, Revere Ristorante Italiano, Sal de Forte’s, Washington Crossing Inn. Wines are provided by Glendale Liquors.

The extensive variety of wines makes this year’s event even more spectacular. Eight wine vendors interspersed among the tables of food will provide tastings of a variety of wines from around the world.  Such varietals as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Petite Shiraz, Chianti, Viognier, and Prosecco from regions in Italy, Spain, Australia, Argentina, France, New Zealand and others will be served. Additionally wines produced in the United States will include those from California, Oregon, Washington State and New Jersey. The representatives from each vendor will assist in pairing the wines with the delicious food tastings being offered and provide information regarding their selection of red, white, blush, sparking wines and ports.

Note:  Admission is $65.00 per person on the day of the event.  Admission begins at 6:00 p.m.
